Russ Crupnick is Managing Partner of MusicWatch, a company dedicated to marketing research and industry analysis for the music and entertainment industry. Crupnick has focused his work on emerging digital music and video behaviors, high definition media, trends in cross-entertainment, social media, device usage, and connectivity. He is known in the industry for his insights into consumer-entertainment trends and for his guidance and industry analyses.
Prior to his role at MusicWatch, Crupnick founded the entertainment practice at The NPD Group and has appeared as a commentator for various broadcast news outlets, including Marketwatch, Fox Business Channel, NPR, CBS, and CNBC. He has been quoted on industry trends in Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Billboard, USA Today, Huffington Post, Home Media, and Variety, among others. Crupnick is an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Steinhard Music Business Graduate Program, and is regularly featured as a speaker at various industry events. He was awarded a Platinum Record by the RIAA in 2013 for his service to the music industry.
