Prior to working at Kartel, Kirby-Welch was a DJ, sound engineer, and held sales and promotions roles in the club promotions department of EMI Virgin Records. After founding Kartel Music Group, he managed and released the music of New Zealand supergroup Fat Freddy’s Drop. He has since worked with a wide range of both emerging and established artists, managers, and record labels.
