Since 2007, records stores, their customers, and artists across the world have come together and celebrated the unique culture of record stores and the special role these independently owned shops play in their communities. The success of this one-day celebration has sparked the creation of a Black Friday event, as well as countless collaborations with both independent and major labels to create contests, special releases and promotions throughout the year.
This Town Hall is open to all Music Biz 2019 registrants and is your chance to hear the impact that Record Store Day has had on the industry over the years and to celebrate the accomplishments of the recent 2019 event. Ideas will circulate about how your artists can reap the benefits of participating in this unique industry promotion. An open forum discussion will allow all to share ideas about how to make the 2020 event even bigger.
