Songwriter Deals in the Changing Landscape of the Music Business

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session, we will examine creative ways to customize music publishing agreements tailored to a songwriter's specific needs based on the changing landscape of the music business.  Due in part to the growing number of publishing partners available for songwriters to consider partnering with now, there is greater competition, and the publishers who are open to unique deals are winning out.  We will discuss key variations in rights and obligations in the different types of music publishing contracts, including real world examples of how they are being put into play.  Further, the panelists will highlight which elements songwriters should take into consideration when choosing a music publisher in light of long term career goals rather than short term, short sighted visions.
