Increasing the Impact of Indie Retail Promotion in the Age of Streaming

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The objective of this panel will be to focus on the continued importance of independent record stores in the age of streaming, with an emphasis on bringing independent retail promotion online. From streaming an in-store with a media partner to creating bespoke digital content to be experienced only at record stores to filming bands engaging with a retailer to promote a record, indie retail can be the home for not just the local community to gather and experience music, but also a platform for fans around the world to experience an artist's record for the first time. Panelists working in retail marketing at record labels and independent shops will share examples of promotions they have successfully brought online. Attendees will learn about the importance of the community of discovery a record shop can foster and how that can be translated to a wider audience around the globe.
