First Impressions Count: How a Teenager Became Create Music Group’s Secret Weapon

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

We’ll explore the career arc of Jacob Pace, VP of Business Development and A&R of Create Music Group/CEO of Flighthouse and discover why his boss and mentor Alexandre Williams, Create’s Co-Founder & COO, took a chance on the young executive when he was still in high school (*spoiler alert* Alex didn’t know he was still in high school)!

This conversation will discuss how it’s never too early in your life to try and make your dreams come true, how naivete might just be your best asset, and how being young in the business of youth culture is a significant advantage.

Create Music Group, based in LA, is the leader in digital royalty collection and content promotion, working with the likes of Migos, Post Malone, and more. Create was named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies this year. Flighthouse, a division of Create Music group, is a viral Youtube and online channel with over 18 million followers on TikTok.

This session is part of our Career Development Workshops
Calling all students, young professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and those looking for their big break in the industry! Educating and inspiring the next generation of music business executives is a major part of Music Biz’s commitment to the industry, and we’re excited to embody that commitment at this year’s Conference. Our Career Development Workshops will guide you on a path for long-term success in sessions led by those who have already tread on that path.
