Companies such as Splice, Tracklib, and Mixcloud are redefining what it means to be part of music creation and monetization; Splice now supporting the creators of beats in a similar way as labels and publishers sign performing artists and songwriters; Mixcloud elevating the DJ/playlist curator with Select; and Tracklib's pre-cleared samples giving new life to catalog stems. Berklee is even allowing students to now declare their instrument as an iPad. These are whole new streams of revenue for new kinds of music creators, as well as established rightsholders, songwriters, and producers. This session will dig into the these new opportunities and how all music creators can benefit.
