I am co-owner of the three independent record labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar and Secretly Canadian, of the music distribution company SC Distribution, of the artist management company Fort William Artist Management, and of the music publishing company Secretly Canadian Publishing. Our companies have offices in Bloomington (Indiana), New York City and London. I’ve been working in the music industry since 1995, solely in the independent music sector, and I’ve recently been elected to the Board of Directors for A2IM, the preeminent trade organization serving the independent music community in the United States.
